CEMPD

Research & Data Policy

CEMPD’s principles for environmental research, data ethics and responsible publication.

CEMPD conducts environmental research in the public interest, grounded in field evidence and community participation.

Integrity

Research is conducted with honesty and rigour. We do not fabricate, falsify or misrepresent data. Findings are reported as observed, with limitations stated.

Community consent

Field research involving communities is undertaken with their knowledge and consent. Community knowledge is acknowledged and respected.

Data protection

Personal data collected during research is handled in line with our privacy policy. Sensitive locations and personal details are not published without consent; the Environmental Action Map generalises locations to protect people and places.

Publication

Research outputs are published through the research hub with authors, abstracts, keywords and citations. Datasets are shared where appropriate and where doing so does not risk communities or ecosystems.

Collaboration

Researchers and collaborators are expected to uphold these standards. See our research hub and the researcher registration page.
